Back to School Rhythm Composition is a fun rhythm composition activity that will provide a good review of rhythm for your students! Students can create their own 4 beat school patterns using rhythm based spring items and can practice saying their spring rhythms while keeping a steady beat. Use as a full group activity or in centers!

How to use composition kits slide

Beginner rhythm composition kit (quarter note, eighth notes, and half note) in color & black and white with options for regular and stick notation

Advanced composition kit (quarter note, eighth notes, half note, eighth quarter eighth notes, four sixteenth notes, eighth two sixteenth notes, and two sixteenth eighth notes) in color & black and white with options for regular and stick notation

Rhythms:

quarter note: books, glue, globe

eighth notes: ruler, notebook, back pack

half note: tape (said over two beats)

sixteenth notes: sharpened pencils

eighth and two sixteenth notes: paint brushes

two sixteenth and eighth notes: paperclips
